Process of obtaining DSC
Apply for Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) by filing details of the applicant with relevant KYC documents with the Certifying Authorities (CAs).
The applicant then complete mobile, E-Mail and video verification.
The Certifying Authorities then verify the submissions and approve the application if they think fit.
Once the application is approved then DSC can be downloaded in token and protected with password, for future use.
Requirement of DSC
Physical documents are signed manually, similarly, electronic documents, for example e-forms are required to be signed digitally using a Digital Signature Certificate.
Issuance of DSC
A licensed Certifying Authority (CA) issues the digital signature. Certifying Authority (CA) means a person who has been granted a license to issue a digital signature certificate under Section 24 of the Indian IT-Act 2000.

- Class 3 signing certificate – individual based
- Class 3 signing certificate – organisation based
- DGFT DSC – IEC Based
Validity of a DSC
The Certifying Authorities are authorized to issue a Digital Signature Certificate with a validity of one or two years the price of DSC may vary depending upon the validity.
